Abstract: Mashups can be created for many different reasons, but the most common purpose for creating a mashup, rather than using another form of data presentation, is to add value to the data by combining several sources in order to present new relationships between them. I created the Repository Mashup Map (maps.repository66.org) to do just this - combine data about repositories from different data providers and mash it up with Google Maps (maps.google.com) to visually display information about the repositories. In this chapter we'll examine the mashup to see why and how it was created and look at the data sources it uses in order to consider issues and considerations that affect us when mashing-up data feeds.
