Abstract:
The article looks at the role of counseling in social work in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It examines the impact of some factors on the place of counseling in social work in the area using information gathered from qualitative interviews with social workers and academics conducted through 2005-2006. It concludes that the strong effect of biculturalism on the development of social work in New Zealand had substantial implication for the role of counseling.
