dc.description.abstract The Circle of Courage (Brendtro, Brokenleg, & Van Bockern, 2002) philosophy together with the strategy of graphic facilitation (Sibbet, 1977) provided a framework for one New Zealand school’s approach to student-centred transition planning. For young people leaving school transition planning involves making decisions about the pursuit of meaningful post-school experiences. Transition planning often does not happen for students and if it does the student is not meaningfully involved. This article outlines the transition planning approach and the experience of one young person. While this approach was faciliated for students with special educational needs, it is applicable for all young people. Furthermore this process can be applied toplanning in a variety of educational contexts. en
