Abstract:
Understanding organizational change is a central and lasting question in organization theory. This paper examines radical institutional change in the context of everyday practices of organizational members. While existing views of radical institutional change have taken a field-level approach in examining the process and content of radical change, we take an individual-level perspective. Combining institutional and change theories with field theory, we offer a conceptualization of the role of institutional work in the radical change of work practices.
