In very broad terms, the inverse problem of electrocardiography may be deined as the determination of the electrical function of the heart from a number of remote recordings of potentials on some noninvasive or minimally invasive surface. In this sense, even clinical electrocardiographic or vectorcardiographic diagnosis is an inverse problem solved on an empirical basis by using previously cataloged information. ...
