dc.description.abstract	The 2008 National-led government, concerned with what it saw as an explosion in costs, claimed that the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) board did not have the skills to secure the financial stability of the ACC scheme. In March 2009 the minister, Nick Smith, dismissed the chair of the board, Ross Wilson, and appointed in his place accountant John Judge.	en
