Abstract:
Many attempts were made to purify NAD-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase (NAD-ICDH) from etiolated pea tips using a variety of procedures. It was not possible to purify the NAD-ICDH beyond 6-7 fold (corresponding to an enzyme activity of 30 – 40 units/mg).
Although 250 M kinetin relieved the inhibition of NAD-ICDH caused by high ATP concentrations (3-5mM), kinetin alone had no effect on the activity of the enzyme.
