dc.description.abstract Essay prompted by editor/compiler's query regarding 'what is random?' Collection is a digital arts book, with contributors from around NZ (Brian Boyd, Bill Manhire, etc). I use personal narrative, linguistic analysis and Peircean theory of abduction to analyze notions of 'randomness' and meaning in a world of chance. Focuses especially on language use by mentally disabled. en
