dc.description.abstract Uenuku was recovered from Lake Ngaroto, near Te Awamutu in 1906. He is thought to be an example of early carving style in New Zealand dating between 1200 to 1500AD.This condition report was commissioned by Te Awamutu prior to transportation of the carving to Te Papa Tongarewa Musuem of New Zealand Wellington. en
