Abstract:
This report is the results of a survey that I carried out for the Ministry of Health. It was funded by the National Drug Policy Discretionary Grant Fund. In my research with mothers who use drugs during pregnancy, I have found that the healthcare professionals often did not have any information as to whether mothers were using or abusing alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs during pregnancy. I submitted a proposed study to the National Drug Policy Grant Fund to determine what health care professionals who treat women of child bearing age or women who are pregnant know and do about maternal drug use.
