Abstract:
Introduction: The posterior left atrium (PLA) and pulmonary veins (PVs) play a crucial role in initiating and maintaining atrial fibrillation. For the first time, we have used structurally-detailed computer models, which incorporate realistic fiber architecture, to investigate anatomic substrates for electrical reentry in this region.
