Abstract:
My Contribution: Originator of print and online versions, sole researcher and writer (although with occasional contributions from five continents.) Provides an ongoing commentary and chapter-by-chapter critical essays on Nabokov's most complex novel, hyperlinked to and from annotations, images, and motif index. Over 900 pages and 800 images to date; 90,000 words written for new chapters from 2006-11. 120,000 hits. Expands on print version, appearing since 1993 (Professor Stephen Parker, U of Kansas: "a good number of the "Nabokovian" subscribers are there largely to get your on-going ADA annotations"). Acclaimed around world for content ("Boyd's magnificent ADAOnline" (anonymous reviewer for Canadian SSHRC grant application), "a masterpiece in itself" (Adrianna Kepinska), by other translators and annotators, and as example for literature on internet (Claudio Soares, 8 Aug 2009: "Just as ADA Online... inspired the "Blog of Machado de Assis" [in Brazil], now it also inspires other projects in Portugal"; "contains everything one needs to unriddle the novel... an engaging example of how things could be done on the Internet" (Olga Voronina, Bard College).
