dc.description.abstract RESUMEN: En esta tesis se propone demostrar la manera en la que la obra poetica de Francisco Brines, Jose Angel Valente y Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald revela su represion por oposicion a la dictadura franquista, la cual domino la vida espanola de 1939 a 1975. En la introduccion se subraya que la opresiva jerarquia del Regimen franquista puede compararse de modo fructifero con el modelo patriarcal de la estructura familiar del psicoanalista frances, Jacques Lacan. En ambos sistemas autoritarios, la unica imagen admisible es la paterna, con la que uno se debe identificar a fin de evitar el castigo del Padre o Dictador. Sin embargo, tal identificacion con este ideal exilia al ser humano de su verdad material, radicado en su cuerpo fisico, linguistico y sociohistorico. En el primer capitulo, dedicado a Francisco Brines, se enfoca el exilio del poeta disidente de su verdad fisica. Rodeado de un mundo hostil, Brines lucha por reivindicar su derecho a ser homosexual en una sociedad de normativas estrictamente heterosexuales. Dado que el cuerpo del poeta es tambien su cuerpo poetico, su reafirmacion de su realidad fisica es inseparable de su recuperacion de los medios de expresion individual, retenidos por el Regimen para reproducir una unica imagen legitima. El segundo capitulo trata de la obra poetica de Jose Angel Valente, centrandose en el exilio del poeta de su palabra, usurpada por la dictadura franquista. Desterrado por el poder, Valente vuelve esta marginacion a su ventaja, ya que tal posicion hace posible su oposicion a y salida de las barreras ideologicas impuestas por el Regimen. En el tercer capitulo se estudia la poesia de Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald. Privado por el franquismo de su realidad sociohistorica, el sujeto poetico debe luchar no solo contra una censura externamente impuesta, sino tambien contra su propio condicionamiento involuntario. Para Brines, Valente y Caballero Bonald, la revolucion se realiza mediante la creacion poetica, la cual echa al orden simbolico paterno y restituye la lengua y tierra materna deseada. Paulatinamente, el tema del exilio desaparece de la obra de los tres poetas, debido a su recuperacion de una palabra y realidad prohibidas. ABSTRACT: The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate how the poetry of Francisco Brines, José Angel Valente and José Manuel Caballero Bonald reveals their repression by and opposition to the Franco dictatorship, which dominated Spanish life from 1939 to 1975. The introduction emphasizes how the oppressive hierarchy of the Franco régime can be fruitfully compared with the patriarchal model of the family structure of the French psychoanalyst, Jacques Lacan. In both authoritarian systems the only admissible image is the paternal, with which one must identify in order to avoid the Father's or Dictator's punishment. However, such an identification with this ideal exiles the human being from the material truth and hence, from his or her physical, linguistic and socio-historical body. The first chapter, dedicated to Francisco Brines, focuses on the dissident poet's exile from his physical truth. Surrounded by a hostile world, Brines struggles to reclaim his right to be homosexual in a society governed by strictly heterosexual norms. As the poet's body is also his poetic body, his reaffirmation of his physical reality is inseparable from the recovery of his means of individual expression, confiscated by the Régime in its determination to cultivate one sole legitimate image. The second chapter deals with the work of José Angel Valente, centring on the poet's exile from his word, usurped by the Franco dictatorship. Nevertheless, once in exile, Valente turns his position of marginality to his advantage, given that it in fact facilitates his opposition to and consequent escape from the Régime’s ideological barriers. The third chapter studies the poetry of José Manuel Caballero Bonald. Deprived of his socio-historical reality by the dictatorship, the poetic subject must fight not only against an externally-imposed censorship, but also against his own involuntary conditioning. For Brines, Valente and Caballero Bonald, their revolution is carried out through the process of poetic creation, which exiles the paternal symbolic order and restores the desired mother tongue and motherland. Gradually, the theme of exile disappears from the work of all three poets, due to their recovery of a forbidden word and world. en
