dc.description.abstract This $60,0000 comissioned report examines and reports on some effective language and literacy learning, teaching, and assessment strategies for Māori and Pasifika students in immersion bilingual education the compulsory sector of NZ schooling.It concludes that Professional Content Knowedge(PCK)amongst educators and administrators about researchon bilingualism, bilingual immersion education is currently too low to carry out the reforms and recommendations made, and that this be addressed concurrently with pedagogical shifts recommended. My contribition Facilitated and co-ordinated the establishment & operation of a joint research network team from School of Pasifika,Te Puna Wanananga,and School of Languages & Literacies to bid & win $60,000 MoE NZ Bilingual/Immersion Education res contract 12 mths wk.Capacity and partnership building for Māori Pasifika has had many spin off especially building internal UoA research literature knowledge.My actual contribution 40% Dr Toloa 40%, Māori staff 10% Other 10% divided (Work done available in original drafts). Also wrote a number of subsections (available)of real signif which did not make it to final rept due to lack of PCK by PI.(Reviewed internally and externally but unpublished as yet possibly due to material not wanted made public at present by the MoE. eg: Aho Matua review) en
