Abstract:
Examines the role of the broadcasting fee and of NZOA in the new broadcasting order. Outlines the articulation of the licence fee within an otherwise market-driven environment. Examines why the state and broadcasters support the retention of public provision and culturalist aims at all, explaining it in terms of the ’branding’ of the NZ image.
