Abstract:
The problem under discussion in this thesis is the intersection of moving image, performer(s), and sound, in live concert settings (MiPS). A greater understanding of the relationships between these three fields is required for the purpose of staging effective events. This study will be undertaken by a review of literature and the production of four experimental works. It was found through the study that considering implications of the MiPS contract could result in enriching rather than degrading live concert settings with the addition of projected moving image. From this, conclusions are drawn regarding the effectiveness of the multi-modal concert setup.
