Abstract:
Objective This session is a World Café forum where people can discuss the big questions at the heart of DisabilityCare Australia and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disability. On Day 1 we will discuss what is meant by social inclusion. On Day 2 we will discuss what is meant by choice voice and control. Participants may come to one or both days. Method A World Café is a guided, group discussion about important topics. Participants are seated at tables with 6-8 other people. Each table will be given two questions related to either Choice or Control. A recorder will keep track of the discussion and feedback will be given to the larger group. A person makes a visual representation of the insights from all the participants in the room. Key findings & Conclusions The World Café discussions will provide valuable insights into what participants: people with disability, carers, service providers, policy makers and academics, think are meant by Choice and Control. These insights will be shared with all conference attendees via a Plenary session on Day 3 of the conference.
