dc.description.abstract Non-linear time-history analysis of unbonded post-tensioned concrete masonry (PCM) cantilever walls was carried out in order to clarify the relationship between wall stiffness and strength, and the wall displacement demand due to dynamic seismic excitation. The effects of the PCM wall force-displacement characteristics and structural damping were investigated for a selected building period range. Results from multi-degree of freedom FEM modelling were compared with results from single degree of freedom equivalent structure modelling. Pseudo displacement spectra (Sd) were developed for design use, and a displacement focussed design procedure is outlined. en
