Abstract:
The article presents a study which found that an intensive, multifactorial primary care treatment strategy reduces cardiovascular (CV) risk factors more than routine care in patients with screen-detected type 2 diabetes. The study included 498 patients of 50-70 years of age who were newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes by a 2-stage screening process.
