New Zealand teachers are frequently being told to link with business and the community. Teachers are told that involving the community is a way of supporting and ensuring authentic learning. Yet linking with the community in education at times has been very controversial. This paper will document the emphasis placed on linking with the community whilst highlighting benefits and identifying possible areas of concern. |
