Abstract:
In 2061, Christchurch will be a city for sharing. By consuming collaboratively, sharing resources over owning resources. Through reclaiming car spaces from a car dominant city, this thesis looks into transforming all car spaces into shared spaces, reforming unused open and green spaces into social spaces to share, collaborate and to move people through the city more efficiently. Developing through urban planning, reclaiming car spaces and turn them into shared spaces with facilities for citizens to adapt future and extreme conditions, allowing citizens to relief and reduce stress, stimulate an experience with nature, relieving themselves from all the stressors that may cause any mental distress. Allowing Christchurch to aim to be the City of Wellbeing.
