Abstract:
Home AKL: Artists of Pacific Heritage in Auckland promised the opportunity to 'see life through the eyes of three generations of Pacific artists and discover how ideas about belonging and home have shifted over the past 50 years'. It was not all about Auckland, nor was it delivered entirely by artists who make their home there; it was not an exhaustive survey, nor did it offer a particularly expansive view of the Pacific itself. It did however draw attention to the city as a site of material, conceptual and artistic innovation for many Pacific artists.
