Abstract:
This chapter discusses the historical roots and contemporary resurgence of a form of Chinese Protestant Christianity variously called "Pentecostal", "supernatural", "charismatic", or "miraculous". Charismatic Christianity existed historically as a major modulation of Chinese Protestantism since at least the turn of the 20th century and continues to play a role in Christianity's rapid growth today.
