dc.description.abstract This symposium focuses on major learnings from the University of Auckland’s Starpath Project for Tertiary Participation and Success since its inception in 2005. Across five papers we highlight some of the key opportunities and challenges to addressing equity and excellence for all of our children and young people in Aotearoa. The first paper maps out the equity and excellence challenge and describes the Starpath research and development approach, with a particular emphasis on Phase 2. Each of the subsequent papers present major findings related to our most recent analysis which contribute to current knowledge about ‘what counts’ within schooling improvement initiatives that seek to address both equity and educational excellence in Aotearoa. en
