Abstract:
This presentation explained the new roles of Librarians and learning advisers in higher education. The Librarians and learning advisers’ roles have been changed from service provider to work collaboratively with faculties and other departments. At the University of Auckland, the librarians and advisers are involved in the Academic Integrity online course development & course coordinating, development of one of first two MOOCs of the University, curriculum integration of academic and information literacy, as well as the doctoral skills programme. Through these involvements, the new roles of librarians and learning advisers can be seen as: 1) Higher educators, 2) Online learning designers, 3) Curriculum developers, 4) New technology adopters, 5) Collaborators.
