Abstract:
In the Museum of Classical Archaeology, Durban, a stone stele representing the child Horus' mastery over creatures that imply danger to humans and topped by the protective head of Bes is an example of an established type of magical amulet-stele, often (although not in this instance) featuring magical inscriptions.
