dc.description.abstract |
This paper presents results of a series of received power measurements that were carried out in the Telecommunication Laboratory at the University of Auckland with the aim to investigate the behaviour of local average power in indoor environment. The measurements are done at different distances, antenna positions and space resolutions. Theoretical calculations based on a Rayleigh fading and two-ray reflection model are conducted and compared with the results of measurement in order to determine if the outdoor propagation theory can be applied on indoor measurements. Based on the measurements and calculations the conclusion can be made that the Rayleigh fading and two-ray reflection model can be used to estimate the local average power under certain indoor situations. The obtained results can be used in determining the location of nodes in wireless sensor networks. |
