Abstract:
Whereas spoken announcements are common fare for epistemic logicians, gestures and other vision-based signals are less well-studied. We propose a logic for reasoning about observed behaviour and apply it to the analysis of certain well-known pathologies of social psychology: pluralistic ignorance and the bystander effect.
