dc.description.abstract The Ars Electronica Centre (AEC) in Linz and the adjoined Futurelab are world leading institutions in the area of cross-disciplinary digital research. The 5 day annual Ars Electronica Festival draws together an international audience of over 100,000 visitors. As part of the Festival LightScale II was presented in Austria`s largest Cathedral the Mariendom in Linz from 7.9.-11.9.2017 The installation LightScale II overlays a kinetic physical model with a dynamic digital model. It consists of a 20-meter long carbon fibre construction, freely oscillating in space. A combination of a tracking system and a live render engine overlays the physical construction with projected digital information on multiple mesh layers creating holographic constructions. Key feature is touch sensitive skin. en
