Abstract:
This paper presents a newly developed daylight sensor for use with lighting systems in green buildings. The purpose of the sensor is to offer reliable dimming operation for selfcontrolled luminaires. Unlike the existing sensors the proposed daylight sensor performs correct dimming operations irrespectively to the high reflective objects in the rooms. The sensor is designed to ignore the impact of the highly reflective surfaces (f.e. floor, furniture) and the daylight readings. The principles of the sensor operation are explained and the test results are shown.
