Neuroscientist Melanie Cheung studies the therapeutic applications of brain plasticity (how the brain changes itself in response to the input that it receives) in Auckland and San Francisco. She is currently working with eight whānau Māori who suffer from Huntington's disease. Her keynote address will focus on how to incorporate neuroscience and kaupapa Māori
