Abstract:
The music of John Elmsly is known for its "delicacy, sensitivity, richness...his output has spanned orchestral, solo, chamber, choral, vocal and electroacoustic media, with notable works in many of these." This concert, as part of the Auckalnd Chamber Orchetra's composer portrait series, feature compositions from 1984 to 2018, performed by some of the country's most outstanding musicians - Morag Atchison, soprano, Sarah Watkins, piano, Claire Scholes, mezzosoprano, Jenni Seddon-Mori, flute, Andrew Uren, Donald Nicholls and Peter Scholes, clarinet, Eddie Giffney, accordion, Kevin Kim, recorder, Miranda Adams, violin and James Yoo, cello.
