Abstract:
This paper wants to summarize the results of a research developed within the "Color and light in architecture" Research Unit at Iuav University of Venice. The research aimed to identify how the new architectural surfaces configure themselves in relation to the built environment. We followed a comprehensive project that included a first phase of analysis of the state of the art, a middle depth of the technological issues relating to architectural surfaces and a final phase that would gather the results of the individual work. The results were collected in a scientific publication in Italian language. In the first phase of research, the investigation focused on the new codes of reading the city and architecture. We came to understand that the design approach of contemporary architects could be summarized in two way of planning the surfaces: static and dynamic. In the middle of the work we have analyzed this problem coming to a final synthesis, consisting of three basic keywords.
