Abstract:
Mistranslation Laboratory is an interdisciplinary performance/installation that explores relationships between bodies, sites and ecologies. The core idea driving this work is that our bodies are entangled with our environments, with things, with other bodies – human and non-human, with atmospheres, climates, ecologies, plant-life, with the spaces and textures of our world. This work draws attention to such entanglement in two key modes – 1) Through a performance 2) Through an installation of works on paper, sound compositions, poetic and performative texts and interactive installations that emerge in and around performance making, through a focus on the performative, multi-modal art-form of documentation.
