dc.description.abstract |
The four works in this portfolio were completed during a period of two years of part-time study, composition and research. Each of the four works were premiered in public concerts and workshops, by musicians and locations including the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at the Auckland Town Hall, the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble at the Aspen Music Festival, and the ACE Brass Trio and two leading pianists, both at the University of Auckland’s School of Music theatre. Whilst each piece was developed individually, there is a common theme of ecology and social conscience threaded through each of the works, dealing with topics including clouds, rivers, oceans, and Donald Trump. |
