Abstract:
The article discusses the Treaty of Waitangi signed between the British crown and the Indigenous Māori population of New Zealand and talks about what they consider a fundamental flaw in the treaty. Topics discussed include the English version of the treaty having the Māori cede sovereignty in exchange for full land ownership while in the Māori version they retain their sovereignty and treasures but cede governance to Britain.
