dc.description.abstract Natural hazards often cause severe damage which impacts human and nature activity. In Asia-Pacific, known as the most disaster-prone region, natural disasters vary in all kinds, for instance: earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical storms, flooding, landslides, volcanic eruptions, and lead to a different resilience method for each type of disaster. This research’s main data is taken from Christchurch, New Zealand, after the earthquake as the event hits the nation’s most expensive disaster and the third rank in the world. Hundred thousand houses damaged after the earthquake and many people were affected. Using a systematic review to collect data from different studies in conducting critical analysis, the quality of this investigation can be achieved with less error made. The aim is to develop the response in rebuilding damaged communities focussing on the housing projects by obtaining the factors that involve in the cost of reconstruction. Critical factors that affect the cost of the housing recovery have been identified. This finding is expected to help people coping with the situation when the recovery process is needed. Further statistical testing is performed to reduce the number of factors into several components, known as factor analysis. The outcome has successfully created more simplified variables that comprise all identified findings. en
