Abstract:
By progressing in various industries, the composite materials came to the attention.
Composite materials have high mechanical and thermal properties in comparison to
traditional materials such as metals. As they have higher properties, they are more
expensive as well. There are various manufacturing processes for these materials, like Resin
Transfer Moulding (RTM). In this process, the material has to be tested in terms of resin
behaviour through the textile. This textile resistance against the fluid flow calls
permeability. Nowadays, the majority for permeability measurements are conducting
destructively, which increase the cost of production if the part fails. In this research, tried
to reduce the production cost by providing a non-destructive method to measure the
permeability. This method works air-based which provide a clean and fast testing process
that aimed by artificial intelligence to calculate the permeabilities. So, it can be said that
the novelty of this study is using air-based non-destructive method to measure the
permeability by using the neural network to predict the permeability.
