dc.description.abstract Case Studies of teaching and learning in drama: Young people speak out with responsibility about power, culture, and their histories. In this workshop/discussion, the three presenters will discuss the research into their practice which they carried out during the last year in their primary classrooms (Year 8 and Year 6). We will describe how the research was undertaken, discuss findings, and consider what we have discovered that has been useful for our own learning and for other teachers. We will talk about how planning a drama, observing a classroom, and talking to students might produce different, unexpected, and revealing answers. Through drama, the young people in those classrooms spoke articulately about resisting authority, responsibility for environment, and cultural difference. en
