Abstract:
Elizabeth will talk about assembling words from surveyed respondents into a performance text. She will draw on data from her research on the Role of the Arts in Teacher Transformation. Believing that drama education is valuable for the knowledge, identity and confidence that prospective teachers need, Elizabeth surveyed student responses to her courses over time. She is immensely grateful for the help of two students who will represent the voices of others: “I was so emotionally engaged that I did not feel the heat from the tennis court burning my feet until our performance ended.”
