Abstract:
Recent mass global human migration has transformed the demographic landscape of Aotearoa (New Zealand) significantly. The latest available census results show that 25% of New Zealand’s population and 39% of Auckland residents were born outside of the country. Aotearoa is now home to more than 200 different ethnic groups and 160 different languages, and is being described as a superdiverse New Zealand. A superdiverse population has implications for education, including early childhood care and education (ECCE).
