Abstract:
Preliminary measurements of size-fractionated raindrop chemistry are described. These data were obtained with a modified version of the spectrometer described by Bradley in 1985 which allows improved performance in windy conditions. Mechanisms are discussed to account for observed concentration extrema at 0.6 mm drop radius. These extremes decrease with time from rain onset with a time constant of about 25 minutes.
