dc.description.abstract In the past three decades, the Chinese government has imposed restrictions on motorcycle usage in cities and on motorways. Consequently, this has led to the loss of a motorcycle culture in China and resulted in the general public knowing little about modern motorcycles. This thesis analyses key aspects of learning, experiencing and testing motorcycles to inform an architectural design proposition aimed at introducing innovative transportaton spaces and buildings to build a motorcycle park. To begin with my design, I explored some related works on how to manage movement spaces and buildings. The architectural design is based on a functional programme that includes four functional components: education, leisure, motorcycle transforming, and experience. This enables the highest usage of the park for people of different ages. This design also develops a “pluggable section” where people can add, shift, or remove elements with flexible functions depending on their requirements. In brief, the purpose of the design is to raise people’s interest in motorcycle culture and learn to drive motorcycles to promote the motorcycle culture in China. en
