Abstract:
The aim of this project was to study literature written after the events in May of 1968 in France and to relate that literature to changes in respective authors political conceptions. As a result of extensive reading I decided on a case-study approach focusing on three authors, and one of their texts each. The authors are Louis Althusser, Alain Badiou and Gilles Dauvé. The aim of the project was to assess how the relative success, failures, or May 1968 contributed to the author’s conception of politics, philosophy, and theoretical questions facing the Communist Movement.
