dc.description.abstract Liquefaction-induced damage is phenomenon that could cause devastating damage for the ground and also for the structures. A lot of case histories of liquefaction-induced damage has been studied and analysed in order to enhance the knowledge about liquefaction. Several studies regarding the mechanism of liquefaction, effects of the liquefaction-induced damage, and liquefaction-induced damage on embankments have been conducted. In this study, numerical analysis of liquefaction-induced settlement on embankment is studied based on the previous centrifuge test. The numerical model was modelled using PM4s and constitutive model using commercially available PLAXIS 2D software. Validation of input parameters and numerical model was conducted. The result shows that the numerical model could produce reasonably similar response to centrifuge test. The numerical model indicated that liquefaction analysis by means of numerical analysis is achievable using parameters derived from laboratory tests. The development of excess pore water pressure (EPWP) obtain from numerical analysis is reasonable when compared to laboratory test results. However, the total settlement of the numerical model is smaller compared to the laboratory test result. en
