dc.description.abstract In this paper we introduce the concept of F-consistency of a social choice function relative to the given class F of social choice functions. This refines the concept of consistency (self-selectivity), introduced by the first author, and allows to discover a number of classes F for which there exist F-consistent social choice functions which are neither dictatorial nor antidictatorial. Furthermore, under certain mild conditions on F all F-consistent social choice functions are described. en
