Abstract:
Imagination, Resonance and the Choral Ear: A Practitioner's View of Choral Sound: How we create the quality of sound and resonance we aspire to as conductors, rests largely with our aesthetic and view on what constitutes healthy singing. This session will identify the tools used to create such resonance and the application of these in the choral context. How we use and apply the information rests, in large measure, upon the the conductor’s imagination and the engagement of the singers. A successful choir is built on the conductor’s knowledge of the vocal instrument and choices around the quality of the resonance.
