Abstract:
In times of crisis, equitable access to education can be disrupted, sometimes for prolonged periods of time. The consequences of these disruptions can have a profound, long-lasting impact on communities trying to recover from shocks or conflict. In addition, education systems themselves must be resilient to shocks and stresses in order to maintain the benefits of past and current investments in the sector. This white paper explores the relationship between education and resilience and presents recommendations for resilience policy and programming for the U.S. Government.
