dc.description.abstract In this paper I reflect on the praxis of being a self-directed second language learner in two Indigenous languages: Māori as a settler (Aotearoa New Zealand), and Irish as a diaspora community member (Ireland). Using action research methods, I examine my experience as a non-traditional student managing different modalities of self-regulated learning. Implications for praxis are considered. en
