dc.description.abstract |
Plants of the Delphinium and Aconitum genera, the active constituents of which are diterpenoid alkaloids, have long been known in herbal medicine. Alkaloids of this type have been shown to exhibit a wide variety of pharmacological activities and two of these, C₁₉-diterpenoid methyllycaconitine and C₁-diterpenoid lappaconitine, are of particular interest. The synthesis of AE bicyclic analogues of a variety of these alkaloids is herein reported. |
